Jumpossess
Jumpossess is a clever puzzle-platformer that tests your spatial planning and timing as you navigate tricky 2D levels. You control a small black demon whose basic capabilities are severely limited. While the demon can safely walk on deadly spikes without taking damage, its jump is too weak to clear even modest vertical walls. To reach the exit portal, you must use the demon’s unique power to possess other characters scattered throughout the level, inheriting their bodies and special traversal skills.
Each level acts as a complex logic puzzle where you must coordinate swaps between different hosts. A red jumper lets you leap high into the air, a green dog can squeeze through tight corridors, and a blue pusher can shove obstacles out of the way. Because each form comes with distinct advantages and vulnerabilities—and because only your base demon form is immune to spikes—success depends on executing the perfect sequence of swaps without locking yourself out of essential paths.
Controls
Use the following controls to steer your character and interact with the environment:
- Move Left / Right: A, D or Left / Right Arrow keys
- Jump: W or Up Arrow key
- Possess Character / Interact: S or Down Arrow key
- Reset Level: R
- Pause / Back: Esc
On mobile devices, virtual touch buttons are provided on-screen for movement, jumping, and possession.
Tips & Strategies
- Plan Backwards: Before making your first move, look at the exit portal and determine which character form is required to reach it. Working your way backward from the goal to the starting position makes finding the correct sequence of possessions much easier.
- Mind the Spikes: Spikes are lethal to every character except the Black Demon. If you are currently possessing the Red Jumper, Green Dog, or Blue Pusher, stay away from spikes. Always make sure to transfer back to the demon before attempting to traverse hazardous floors.
- Do Not Swap Too Early: Swapping into a character immediately when you see them can easily leave you stranded. Plot your course ahead of time to make sure you do not waste a character’s ability prematurely.
- Reset Freely: Because puzzle solutions require precise movement and push order, it is easy to accidentally push a block into a corner. Do not hesitate to press the R key to reset the level instantly and try a different combination.
