Nonogram turns a blank grid into a hidden picture, one logically deduced square at a time. Numbers along the top and left edge of every row and column tell you exactly how many filled squares belong there — no color-coding, no guessing, just working out which cells must be shaded and which must stay empty.
Each puzzle opens as a featureless block of squares and slowly resolves into an image as you cross-reference the clues on both axes. Get a square wrong and you lose a life, so the satisfying way to play is methodical: lock in the cells you’re certain about first, then use those to narrow down the harder rows.
