Snow Tale is a winter-themed 2D platformer where you guide a small penguin through levels covered in snow and ice. Armed with snowballs, you must freeze enemies and knock them out of the way while avoiding spikes, fireballs, and tumbling boulders. Each level has checkpoints marked by bells, letting you save progress and survive the challenging jumps and environmental hazards ahead.

The game’s speed and momentum are key. Along with basic jumps, your penguin can double-jump to cross large chasms, execute a ground pound to activate wooden switches, or perform a fast roll to smash through ice blocks. Defeating enemies drops treats like popsicles and diamonds, adding to your overall score as you progress to the end of each icy level.

Controls

Snow Tale is designed for play on a desktop browser using keyboard inputs:

• A/D or Left/Right Arrow Keys: Move left or right
• W or Up Arrow Key: Jump (press twice in the air to double-jump)
• Spacebar: Throw snowballs to freeze enemies
• S or Down Arrow Key (in mid-air): Ground pound to hit switches or crush enemies
• Double-tap A/D or Left/Right Arrow Keys: Perform a power roll to break blocks and slide

Note: This game does not feature native touch-screen controls for mobile devices.

Gameplay Tips

• Create frozen combos: Throwing a snowball freezes an enemy, but it does not defeat them. Bump into the frozen enemy to send them sliding; they will knock out any other monsters in their path, yielding high-value popsicles.
• Master the power roll: Double-tapping a movement key lets you break through blue ice blocks. You can also use this move to slide under low ceilings or quickly escape oncoming hazards.
• Ground pound wooden posts: Stand on top of wooden posts and press Down/S while in the air to pound them into the ground. Doing so often activates nearby mechanisms, like raising another platform to help you reach high ledges.
