1010 Color Match

1010 Color Match takes the classic 10×10 block-puzzle format and adds a color-matching twist: instead of just clearing full rows and columns, you’re also hunting for groups of same-colored squares. Every turn puts three new shapes on a side tray, and you drag each one onto the grid before deciding your next move. Get three or more same-colored squares touching each other and they vanish, freeing up space and stacking your score with combo bonuses.

The tension comes from managing two things at once: color groups and open space. Early on the board looks huge; twenty moves later half of it is full and every shape you place has to do double duty, clearing squares while setting up your next match. The game keeps going as long as you can still fit a shape somewhere on the board, so a run can end in under a minute or stretch on once you learn to read the grid.

Controls

1010 Color Match is played entirely with the mouse, or a finger on touchscreens – there’s no keyboard involved. Click and drag a shape from the tray beside the board into the position you want, then release to drop it. If none of your three shapes fit anywhere on the board, the run is over.

Tips that actually help

  • Place the awkward shapes (long bars, L-pieces) early while the board is open, and save simple 1×1 and 2×2 pieces for patching gaps later.
  • Keep same-colored squares grouped together instead of scattering them – a tight cluster is far more likely to hit a 3+ match than squares spread across the grid.
  • Look at all three shapes in the tray before committing to a move – placing the second or third one first sometimes opens up a better spot for the rest.
  • Avoid stranding single squares in corners; they’re hard to clear later and quietly eat up space you’ll need.

It’s a good pick if you want a puzzle game you can drop into for a few minutes without relearning rules each time, but the color-matching layer gives it enough depth to hold your attention for longer sessions too.
