Google SnakeSteer your snake around a grid eating food to grow longer without hitting the walls or yourself — the Google Snake browser game in its clean, addictive form.
Google Snake
Google Snake puts a clean, polished spin on the formula Nokia made famous in the late 1990s. You steer a snake around a grid, eating food to grow longer, with the sole rule that you cannot touch the walls or your own body. Simple to learn in seconds, genuinely difficult once the snake fills a third of the board.
Rounds are short by design: one wrong turn ends the run and you restart from a small snake. That brevity makes it easy to keep playing — the real challenge emerges gradually as you shift from mindlessly chasing food to thinking several moves ahead about where your tail will end up.
Controls
- Arrow keys — move up, down, left, right
- Swipe — swipe in any direction on touchscreen
Tips
- Stay near the edges early. Keeping the snake along the outer perimeter leaves the center open and gives you more room to work with as the snake grows.
- Think about your tail, not just the food. The most common mistake at medium length is accidentally cutting off your own escape route. Before turning, consider where your tail will be two or three moves from now.
- Sweep rows on a long snake. Darting straight at each piece of food works fine early on, but once the grid starts filling up, a back-and-forth row pattern prevents you from boxing yourself into a corner.
