StarBlast is a fast-paced, multiplayer space shooter that drops you directly into a chaotic, asteroid-filled cosmic arena. You start out in a basic, low-tier mining ship, tasking you with blasting drifting space rocks to gather valuable red crystals. As you harvest these gems, you can spend them on the fly to upgrade your vessel’s shields, energy capacity, and weapon damage. However, you are never alone; other players roam the same sector, hunting for easy targets to steal their hard-earned crystals.

A typical session is a tense balance between risk and reward. You must decide whether to quietly mine in the outer sectors to reach higher ship tiers, or aggressively hunt down rival pilots to steal their cargo. As you grow stronger, you can evolve into massive, heavily armed battlecruisers. Whether you are cooperating in Team Mode to power up your team’s space station or fighting for sole survival in Survival Mode, every split-second decision and evasive maneuver determines whether you rule the galaxy or get turned into stardust.

Controls

StarBlast supports both mouse-and-keyboard setups and touch-screen mobile devices:

Movement: Move your mouse cursor and hold the Right Mouse Button (or use WASD / Arrow Keys) to thrust and steer your spaceship.
Firing: Press the Left Mouse Button or the Spacebar to fire your lasers.
Upgrades: Press the numeric keys 1 through 7 to quickly upgrade your ship’s stats (Shield Capacity, Shield Regen, Energy Capacity, Energy Regen, Laser Damage, Laser Speed, and Ship Speed) when you have collected enough crystals.
Mobile: Use the virtual touch-screen joystick on the left to steer and the action buttons on the right to fire and activate secondary weapons.

Tips that actually help

Prioritize Shield and Energy Regen: Early in the game, focus your upgrades on Shield Regeneration and Energy Regeneration. This keeps you alive during accidental asteroid collisions and allows you to shoot continuously without running out of power.
Upgrade Fully Before Tiering Up: Don’t rush to evolve to the next ship tier the moment it becomes available. A fully upgraded lower-tier ship is often faster and has better damage output than a fresh, un-upgraded higher-tier ship. Max out your stats first to stay competitive.
Base Deposits Win Team Games: If you are playing Team Mode, make regular runs back to your team’s space station to deposit crystals. This upgrades the base, unlocks higher ship tiers for your allies, and prevents you from losing all your crystals if an enemy ambush destroys you.
