Blockudoku
Blockudoku is a relaxing yet challenging grid-based puzzle that merges the spatial organization of block games with the structured layout of Sudoku. Players receive shapes in sets of three and must place them onto a 9×9 board, clearing tiles by completing horizontal rows, vertical columns, or any of the nine 3×3 sub-grids.
Each session is untimed, encouraging players to focus on forward-thinking and spatial strategy without any pressure. The game ends when the board is too crowded to fit any of the remaining pieces, making board management and space conservation key to achieving a high score.
Controls
- Desktop: Left-click and drag the block shapes from the tray at the bottom of the screen, and release the mouse button to drop them onto the grid.
- Mobile/Tablet: Touch and drag the block shapes directly from the tray and drop them onto the grid.
Strategies for High Scores
- Plan the Entire Set: Blocks are delivered in groups of three. Evaluate all three shapes in your tray and determine their placements before dropping the first piece.
- Leave Room for Large Shapes: The game frequently feeds you large 3×3 square blocks and long 1×5 line blocks. Always preserve open zones on the board to avoid getting stuck.
- Focus on Combos and Streaks: Earn extra points by clearing multiple rows, columns, or 3×3 squares simultaneously (combos), or by clearing blocks on consecutive moves (streaks).
- Avoid Isolated Gaps: Refrain from leaving single-tile empty spaces. Finding single-block shapes to fill them is rare, and they quickly clutter your grid.
