Aim and fire a monkey's dart crossbow to pop balloons past walls and obstacles in Bloons, the classic physics arcade game.
Bloons
Bloons is a physics-based aiming game: a monkey stands with a dart-shooting crossbow, and your only job is to line up a shot that pops enough balloons before you run out of darts. There’s no running or jumping here, just careful aim, since every level hands you a fixed number of darts and a target number of balloons to clear.
The challenge builds level by level. Early screens are mostly clusters of ordinary balloons sitting in the open, but soon walls, platforms, and other obstacles start blocking straight shots, forcing you to arc darts up and over them. Tougher balloons show up too, ones that need more than a single hit to pop, so a chain of easy balloons can suddenly cost you more ammo than it looks like it should.
Controls
Everything is done with the mouse. Hold the left mouse button to pull back and aim, moving the cursor to set the angle and power of the shot, then release to fire the dart. There’s no keyboard input, and the game is built for a desktop browser rather than touch controls.
Tips that actually help
- Pull back further for a higher, steeper arc when a wall or platform sits between you and the balloons, rather than trying to force a flat shot through a gap.
- Look for shots that let one dart pass through multiple balloons in a line before it loses momentum — that’s how you stretch a limited dart count across a full level.
- If a balloon takes more than one hit to pop, save it for a shot where you can land the dart cleanly rather than wasting your last darts chipping away at it from a bad angle.
Bloons is the game that later grew into Ninja Kiwi’s Bloons Tower Defense series, and it’s a good fit for anyone who wants a short, skill-based break rather than a long session — most levels take well under a minute once you’ve read the layout.
