Slice ropes to feed Om Nom candy in Cut The Rope 2, a physics puzzle sequel with new helper creatures and trickier factory-themed stages.
Cut The Rope 2
Om Nom is back, and this time the little green candy monster has left his box behind for a whole factory full of trouble. Cut the Rope 2 keeps the one-rule puzzle logic that made the original a hit — slice ropes with a drag of the mouse to drop candy into Om Nom’s mouth — but scatters that candy across bigger, busier stages full of fans, switches, and creatures that get in the way as often as they help.
What changes the feel from the first game is the cast around Om Nom. As you move through the factory you pick up a rotating line-up of odd little helpers, each with exactly one trick: one spins to fling the candy across gaps it could never clear on its own, one turns invisible to slip past things that would otherwise grab it, another freezes moving parts just long enough for a clean cut. Learning which helper solves which kind of level is most of the puzzle.
Controls
Everything runs off one input. Press and drag the left mouse button across a rope to cut it — a full-length drag makes a cleaner cut than a short tap, which matters when a rope is under tension. There’s nothing else to learn: no keyboard, no secondary buttons, just the drag.
Tips that actually help
- Let the candy swing before you make the final cut. A straight drop rarely lines up with Om Nom’s mouth; a cut timed at the top of a swing usually does.
- Go for all three stars on the first attempt if you can see a clean path to them. Backtracking for a missed star often eats the window you had for the next cut.
- Bubbles and air cushions are one-use. Save them for the widest gap on the screen instead of the first rope you happen to cut.
- When a helper creature appears, solve the level around it first — most stages are built so the helper’s one trick is the only way to reach every star.
