Cut the Rope: Time Travel keeps the series’ core idea — slice ropes, bounce candy off bubbles and air cushions, and land it in a Nom’s mouth — but sends it through ten different eras, from the Stone Age to a neon-lit Disco floor. The twist that separates this entry from the original Cut the Rope is that most levels feed two Noms at once, so a single swipe has to route candy toward two mouths instead of one, and a piece cut too early or too late leaves one of them hungry.

Each time period brings its own toolkit rather than reusing the same rope-and-bubble set throughout. In the Middle Ages you’re cutting chains with a blade instead of scissors-friendly rope; the Renaissance level set adds a freeze button that stops everything mid-air so you can plan the next cut; the Pirate Ship world throws bombs and cannon blasts into the mix; Ancient Egypt has candy flying on little rockets. The puzzle logic — read the layout, figure out the order of cuts, grab the stars along the way — stays familiar, but the pacing changes every world, so it never turns into the same three tricks repeated for 175 levels.

Controls

Click and hold the left mouse button and drag across a rope to cut it. A single click acts as a tap, used for things like popping bubbles or triggering an era-specific gadget such as the freeze button. On phone or tablet, swipe a finger across the rope to cut it and tap the screen for the same bubble/gadget actions.

Tips that actually help

  • With two Noms on screen, look at the whole layout before cutting anything — figure out which piece of candy is meant for which mouth, since cutting the wrong rope first can strand the other Nom with no way to reach it.
  • Grab the stars on the way to the Nom rather than doubling back for them; most levels route stars along a natural candy path, and going out of your way after the candy’s already moving usually costs you the level.
  • Save era-specific gadgets like the freeze button for the moment right before a tricky multi-cut sequence, not as soon as they unlock — it buys you the most planning time when the candy is already in motion.
