Dead Zed Dead Zed

Defend a barricaded farm through 40 days of zombie waves in Dead Zed, sending survivors on search parties for weapons while you hold the fence.

Dead Zed puts you behind a wooden barricade on an isolated farm, watching the horizon for the first zombies of the day. A full playthrough runs forty days, and each one opens with a wave of undead shuffling toward your position — aim with the mouse, drop them before they reach the fence, and reload before your clip runs dry. The shooting itself is easy to pick up, but survival depends on what happens between the waves.

Between assaults you send survivors out on search parties to scavenge weapons and recruit more people, then decide who mans the fence, who repairs the barricade, and who stays back to recover. Losing a fight at the fence costs ammo and health; losing a search party costs you a person for good. The tension in Dead Zed comes from that math more than from the shooting — deciding who you can afford to risk.

Controls

  • Mouse — aim and fire
  • R — reload
  • 1 / 2 — switch weapons
  • F — change fire mode
  • M — mute audio

Tips that actually help

  • Reload in the lull right after a wave breaks, not when your clip hits zero mid-fight — a reload animation with zombies still closing is how the barricade goes down.
  • Put your highest-fight-skill survivor in every search party. It’s the single biggest factor in whether that party makes it back alive.
  • Repair the barricade while it’s still just damaged, not after it’s critical — a breach costs you far more than the repair would have.
  • Don’t send your whole roster out scavenging before a wave hits; keep enough shooters on the fence to hold the line.

Dead Zed suits players who want a shooting game with a management layer bolted on — the appeal is as much in deciding who to risk between waves as it is in the trigger pulls themselves.
