Hockeystars
Hockeystars drops two puppet-armed hockey players onto a cramped rink and gives them sixty seconds to out-score each other. There’s no build-up and no menus to grind through — you pick a national flag, the puck drops, and the next minute is entirely about who reads the bounce first.
Movement matters as much as the swing. You’re constantly repositioning to get your stick in front of the puck, then timing a hit instead of mashing at it, while also falling back fast enough to keep your own goal covered when the puck comes the other way.
Controls
- Keyboard: Left/Right arrows to move, Up arrow to jump, Spacebar to hit the puck.
- Touch: on-screen movement buttons plus a separate hit button.
Tips that actually help
- Use the jump to close distance quickly and get your stick between the puck and your goal before it arrives, not after.
- Matches are decided on a 60-second clock, so once you’re ahead, play the closing seconds defensively instead of chasing a risky shot.
- On touch, the hit button is separate from movement — tap it right as the puck reaches your stick instead of holding it down early.
- The flag you pick before the match is cosmetic; it doesn’t change how your puppet handles, so pick whichever team you like.
