Merge Arena is a 3D idle tower defense game: you build a small army by dragging matching units together, then send them out to hold a lane against waves of monsters. A session usually starts small: a couple of basic soldiers, a fight button, and a fortress to protect. As battles bring in gold, you spend it on expanding your available unit slots and unlocking stronger troop types — archers and mages to back up your melee line, eventually working up to heavier units. Your treasury also earns money passively between fights, so there’s always a reason to check back and merge up before the next wave.
Controls
Everything is drag-and-drop: click or tap a unit and drag it onto an identical one to merge them into a stronger version. A dedicated button starts each fight once your lineup is ready, and two buttons in the bottom-right handle expanding your unit roster and adding extra slots. The game works the same way with mouse and keyboard on desktop or touch on phone and tablet — no keyboard shortcuts to learn.
Tips that actually help
- Don’t merge everything the instant you can. Holding two matching low-tier units back to combine with a third pair often nets a higher-tier unit faster than merging piecemeal.
- Buy extra slots before you desperately need them — a full grid with no room to merge stalls your whole army.
- Let the passive treasury income build between fights instead of spending every coin the moment you get it; a bigger single upgrade beats several small ones.
