Mirror Image is a 2009 puzzle-platformer from Nitrome about a Warlock whose village has been overrun by demons. There’s no jumping and no running here — instead, you draw a line out from the Warlock with the mouse, and letting go teleports him to the mirrored point on the opposite side of that line, as if the line were a pane of glass. Getting through a level is a matter of reading the room and picking the right reflection, not reflexes.

Across 36 levels the puzzles layer on complications: colored spikes and loose debris block the direct route, patches of magic mist refuse to let you teleport through them at all, and platforms shift position the moment you land, so the line you draw next has to account for where things will be, not where they were. The demons add pressure without turning this into an action game — some just patrol a fixed area, some chase once they hear you land nearby, and a few will freeze the Warlock solid if they get a clear line of sight on him, which makes cover as important as the teleport itself.

Controls

  • Click and hold on the Warlock, drag out a line, then release to teleport to the mirrored point across it.
  • Arrow keys pan the camera around the level.

Tips that actually help

  • Break line of sight before a quad-eyed demon spots you — duck behind a block rather than trying to outrun a freeze.
  • Magic mist blocks teleportation outright, so treat it as a wall and route your line around it, not through it.
  • Plan your next line before you land. Platforms move after every teleport, so aiming at where a platform currently sits often puts you on solid ground a second too late.
