Murder is a tense, timing-based stealth game where your only goal is to assassinate the reigning monarch and take the crown for yourself. You play as a creeping assassin slowly inching up behind the king during his royal walk. You must carefully charge your stab when his back is turned, but if he glances over his shoulder and catches you with a raised weapon, you are instantly thrown into the dungeon.
Once you successfully land your strike, the game flips. Now you are the king, and you must constantly look over your shoulder to catch the endless line of ambitious assassins trying to do exactly what you just did. It is a simple, highly replayable loop of risk and reward that tests your reflexes and patience in equal measure.
Controls
Use the Spacebar to charge your attack when you are the assassin. Once you become the king, press the Spacebar to look over your shoulder and catch incoming attackers.
Tips that actually help
- Watch for the flinch: The king has a specific animation tell right before he turns around. Learn to spot his slight shoulder drop so you can stop charging your attack immediately.
- Don’t get greedy: It is better to charge your strike over three or four safe attempts rather than trying to max out the bar in one go and risking the dungeon.
- Fake them out: When you are the king, tap the look-back button quickly to bait assassins into revealing their weapons, then turn around fully to catch them red-handed.
