Roper Roper

Swing and jump your way home in Roper, a 100-level Fancade platformer where a single tap and a well-timed hold carry you across cliffs and gaps.

Roper is a one-tap platformer built by Martin Magni in Fancade: you play a small runner who never stops moving forward, and your only job is deciding when to jump and when to grab a rope. Anchor points hang above the track, and holding down as you pass under one swings you up and over the gap instead of just leaping across it.

Each of the 100 levels is short, usually a minute or less, but the rope timing gets stricter as you go — later stages chain several swings back to back over pits and spikes with almost no room for a mistimed release. Coins are scattered along the route, some tucked into spots you can only reach mid-swing, so a clean run often means looping back for the ones you missed on the way through.

Controls

  • Tap to jump.
  • Tap and hold to swing on a rope — this only works when an anchor point is directly above you, not below.
  • On keyboard: WASD, the arrow keys, or spacebar all work as alternatives to tapping.

Tips

  • Watch for the anchor point above you before you commit to a hold — if nothing is overhead yet, holding just wastes the input and you’ll fall short.
  • Release a swing near the top of its arc rather than riding it all the way down; letting go early launches you further than waiting for the rope to run out.
  • If a coin sits off the main line, it’s usually reachable by holding a beat longer on the swing before it, not by jumping for it separately.
