Sandtris turns Tetris into a sand physics puzzle: blocks crumble into grains on landing, and you clear bands by matching colors, not just shape.
Sandtris
Sandtris takes the falling-block puzzle you already know and swaps out the rigid pieces for sand. Every shape that drops still needs to land and lock like a normal block, but the instant it settles it crumbles into a pile of loose grains that spill sideways, slump into gaps, and stack unevenly across the bin — so a board never looks quite as tidy as classic Tetris, even when you’re playing well.
Clearing space works by color instead of solid rows: pack a full horizontal band with sand of the same color and it disappears, dropping everything above it down into the newly opened space. Because the grains settle unevenly, you’re constantly eyeing lopsided piles and deciding whether to smooth them out now or let a later piece do the work. Classic mode keeps a steady, thinking pace; Speed mode ramps the drop rate up over time and turns the same puzzle into a reflex test.
Controls
- Mouse: move left and right to steer the falling shape into position
- Touch: swipe left or right to aim the piece
Tips that actually help
- Watch the color, not just the shape — a band clears the moment every grain in it matches, even if the pile above it is a mess.
- Sand spreads sideways when it lands, so aim pieces at the low points of an uneven pile rather than stacking on top of a peak.
- In Speed mode, commit to a side early; hesitating to nudge a piece back and forth costs more time than picking an imperfect landing spot.
