Shadow Trick Shadow Trick

Shadow Trick is a puzzle-platformer where a wizard swaps into a shadow to dodge traps, slip past minions, and clear four boss fights across a castle.

Shadow Trick puts you in control of a wizard exploring a crumbling magic castle overrun by traps and minions. The twist is your own body: at any moment you can slip into a living shadow, changing which platforms hold your weight, which walls stop you, and which traps can actually hurt you.

Every level is really two levels laid on top of each other — the real world and the shadow realm — and clearing a stage means reading both at once, jumping a gap in daylight and then flicking into shadow form to slide past a patrolling minion or through a hazard that would otherwise catch you. Four boss encounters break up the run, and every level also hides collectible Moons that aren’t needed to reach the exit but do gate the game’s true ending if you want to see it.

Controls

  • Move: A/D or the left/right arrow keys
  • Jump: W or the up arrow key
  • Shadow Mode: E, Spacebar, or Enter
  • Pause: P or Escape

On touch devices, on-screen buttons cover movement, jumping, and switching to shadow form.

Tips that actually help

  • Shadow form isn’t just for hiding from a minion’s sightline — use it mid-jump to swap which platforms or beams you can actually stand on.
  • Moons are optional on a first run. Skip them while you’re still learning a level’s shadow layout, then go back once you know the route.
  • Boss fights lean on the same real-world/shadow swap as the levels around them rather than pure reflexes, so watch for hazards that only exist in one of the two states.

Shadow Trick is made by Neutronized, who’ve built a run of small, mechanic-driven platformers (Snow Tale, Slime Laboratory) — this one keeps that same shape: short levels built around a single clean trick, with full mastery saved for whoever goes back for every Moon.
