FNAF 3Manage cameras, audio lures, and vent seals to outlast Springtrap in Fazbear's Fright — a one-threat horror game that rewards patience over reflexes.
FNAF 3
Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 takes place in Fazbear’s Fright, a pop-up haunted house assembled from salvaged animatronic parts and yellowing newspaper clippings about the original Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. You are the overnight security guard. Unlike the chaos of the earlier games, there is only one animatronic hunting you: Springtrap, a decaying yellow suit that holds something much worse inside. Everything else you see — Phantom Freddy drifting through the hall, Phantom Chica staring from the prize counter, the others — is in your head. Only Springtrap is real, and he moves with patience.
Your tools are three systems: a camera grid that covers most of the building, an audio lure that plays sounds in any room to pull Springtrap toward it, and a row of vent seals for when he gets close. The catch is that all three can malfunction, and rebooting them costs you the few seconds you needed to track him. Phantom animatronics exist to make systems fail — look at one too long and a crash follows. The game is really about keeping three plates spinning while Springtrap walks the map at his own pace. Nights one and two feel almost slow; by night five the pieces are moving faster than they look.
Controls
FNAF 3 is entirely mouse-driven — there are no keyboard controls.
- Switch camera — Click any room icon on the camera map to jump to that feed.
- Audio lure — Click the speaker button on a camera view to play sounds in that room and draw Springtrap toward it.
- Vent seals — Click the vent panel in your office to close the duct closest to Springtrap’s path before he reaches your door.
- Maintenance panel — Click the blinking error button to reboot a failed system (audio, cameras, or ventilation).
On mobile the same actions are taps; the game does not have a separate touch layout and is easier to play with a mouse.
What actually works
- Find him before you do anything else. Springtrap only shows up on cameras. If you lose track of him, stop rebooting and stop luring until you locate him again.
- Lead with audio, close with seals. The audio lure is most effective when Springtrap is still deep in the building — it pulls him away from your corridor. Vent seals are a last resort once he is in the hallway cam.
- Reboot ventilation first. A ventilation failure makes the phantom animatronics more aggressive, which causes more crashes in a chain. Breaking that loop early keeps the rest of the night manageable.
- Look away from phantoms fast. Each one triggers a different system error on extended eye contact. A quick camera flip is enough to dismiss them.
FNAF 3 moves slower than its predecessors, which makes it a good starting point if jump-scare chaos is not your thing. Players who enjoy the lore will also find Night 6 and the mini-games between nights worth staying for.
