Blocky Snakes takes the classic snake formula into a 3D voxel world, placing your blocky reptile inside an arena filled with food pellets, coins, and competing snakes. Every match starts small: your goal is to slither through the field, collect scattered items to lengthen your body, and build up a massive score while staying clear of walls and rival tails.
The core tension comes from aggressive positioning. As your snake grows, turning becomes wider and navigation gets trickier, but your longer body becomes a powerful trap. By boosting ahead and turning sharply across another snake’s path, you force them to crash into your body, leaving behind a trail of food that propels your growth even further.
Controls
Blocky Snakes supports both keyboard steering on desktop and touch navigation on mobile devices:
- Arrow Keys or A/D: Steer left or right to direct your snake.
- Mouse / Touch Controls: Drag or tap to guide your snake’s movement.
- Spacebar / Left Click: Activate speed boost to maneuver past opponents.
Tips that actually help
- Circle Smaller Opponents: Once your snake is long enough, loop around smaller snakes to trap them inside your body until they crash.
- Use Boost Strategically: Boosting burns a small amount of your snake’s length, so save speed bursts for cutting off opponents or escaping tight spots.
- Scavenge Crash Sites: Keep an eye on larger battles across the arena. When a giant snake crashes, rush in to gather the dense cluster of food left behind.
