Tomb of the MaskSlide wall-to-wall through a procedurally generated dungeon — dodge spikes, read enemy patrols, and climb as high as you can in this retro arcade game.
Tomb of the Mask
Tomb of the Mask is built on a rule you grasp in the first second: press a direction and your character slides instantly to the nearest wall. No incremental movement, no nudging — you commit, and they zip across the grid until something stops them. That slide mechanic, applied inside a dungeon scrolling steadily upward, makes every move a decision you cannot take back.
Each run sends you through a procedurally generated dungeon of spike clusters, branching corridors, and patrolling enemies that each follow a fixed route. The satisfying rhythm of a good run is reading those routes and threading through the gaps before the scrolling floor catches up. It is faster than it looks, and harder than it feels at first.
Controls
- PC: Arrow keys or WASD — slides your explorer in that direction until the next wall
- Mobile/Tablet: Swipe in any direction
Tips
- Look one row ahead. Your character reaches the next wall almost instantly — by the time you process landing there, the next move is already due. Train your eyes to scan above where you are heading.
- Spot which walls are safe before committing. Spikes are easy to miss at speed. In dense sections, identify the hazardous walls before entering the corridor.
- Pass enemies at the far end of their patrol. Most enemies sweep a fixed path. Watch one full cycle to find the gap at the end of their route — that is the safest window to cross.
- Centre beats edges. Landing on a side wall cuts your next choices to two directions. Staying central keeps all four open.
