Sonic Origins Pocket Edition is a browser platformer built around the speed-and-rings loop that made the classic Genesis-era Sonic games stick. You run Sonic through sidescrolling stages, clear enemies by jumping on them, collect rings scattered along the path, and race to the goal post at the end of each level — the same core rhythm as the originals, running straight in a browser tab with no install.
Speed is both the reward and the difficulty curve. Sonic builds momentum as he runs, and the level design expects you to keep it — committing to jumps and curves rather than stopping to recalibrate. When an enemy catches you, your rings burst outward and you have a brief window to recover them before they disappear. Get hit while holding zero rings and it costs you a life, so carrying at least a handful into a tough section matters as much as clear timing.
