Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple brings the famous elemental puzzle duo into a labyrinth of magical teleporters. Fireboy glides unharmed over scorching lava pools but perishes in water, while Watergirl steps easily across pools of water but cannot withstand fire. Together, both characters must navigate multi-level stages filled with switches, buttons, and lethal green slime to reach their respective exit doors.
The signature feature of Crystal Temple is its network of crystal portals. Stepping into a portal instantly warps a character or object to its connected destination across the chamber. Whether managing both heroes single-handedly or coordinating with a partner on the same keyboard, success relies on careful timing—sending one character ahead to flip levers, holding doors open, and passing stone blocks through portals to trigger distant switches.
Controls
You can control both characters simultaneously on a single keyboard or share the controls with a second player:
Fireboy (Red):
- Left / Right Arrow Keys: Move left or right
- Up Arrow Key: Jump
Watergirl (Blue):
- A / D Keys: Move left or right
- W Key: Jump
Mobile & Tablet:
- Use the on-screen directional buttons to move and jump each character.
Tips for Navigating the Crystal Temple
- Trace Portal Paths: Crystal portals are color-coded in pairs. Map out where a portal leads before stepping into it so you do not teleport directly into opposite liquids or toxic slime.
- Teleport Objects: Stone boxes and pushable items can be shoved through portals. Use this to press switches on remote ledges that neither Fireboy nor Watergirl can reach in person.
- Synchronize Movement: Some switches operate timed doors or moving platforms. Position one character near the target gate before activating the button with the other.
- Respect Element Restrictions: Remember that red diamonds are exclusively for Fireboy and blue diamonds are strictly for Watergirl. Neither character can collect the other’s gems.
