Fireboy and Watergirl 2: Light Temple is a cooperative puzzle platformer built around a simple but exacting rule: Fireboy dies if he touches water, and Watergirl dies if she touches fire. Every level in the Light Temple adds mirrors, prisms, and light beams to that equation — you push glowing blocks to redirect beams across the room, hit switches, and open the paths that let both characters reach their exits.

You can play with a friend (one person on each set of keys) or solo, switching focus between the two characters as needed. Either way the puzzles demand coordination: a door might open only when both characters stand on their respective pressure pads at the same time, or when Watergirl holds a switch so Fireboy can cross a fire pool. The green slime pools scattered through the temple kill both characters, so no corner of the level is automatically safe for either of them.

Controls

  • Fireboy: Arrow keys — ← → to move, ↑ to jump
  • Watergirl: A / D to move, W to jump
  • Mobile: On-screen directional buttons (layout varies by platform)

Tips that help

  • Collect gems as you go — red gems can only be picked up by Fireboy, blue gems only by Watergirl. Missing one means backtracking, which is harder once you have opened doors behind you.
  • Before moving a prism, trace where the beam will land. One block out of position can shadow the switch you need, and there is usually only one correct arrangement per puzzle.
  • Playing solo? Move the character who has farther to travel first while the other waits on safe ground, then switch. Trying to juggle both at once leads to one of them stepping into liquid.
  • Both doors must open and both characters must pass through. Rushing Fireboy through his red door before Watergirl is in position means restarting the level.

If you enjoy this one, the Forest Temple — the first game in the series — is a gentler place to start, while the Crystal Temple raises the complexity further for players who want harder puzzles.
