Fireboy and Watergirl 6: Fairy Tales is a cooperative puzzle platformer where you control both characters at once and must guide each to their colour-matched exit. Fireboy (the red hero) is killed by water; Watergirl (the blue hero) is killed by fire. Both die in the green toxic pools scattered across many levels. The fairy-tale theme — forested stages, glowing platforms, wooden bridges — wraps the same tight logic as the rest of the series: every level is a sequencing problem first and a dexterity test second.

You run one hand on the arrow keys and one on WASD, moving both characters simultaneously. Most levels have a natural bottleneck: a pressure switch that holds a door open only while someone stands on it, a pair of paths that cross the wrong element if you rush, or platforms that only one character can safely reach. Reading the layout before you move is how you clear a level efficiently; brute-forcing it is how you die in the same puddle a dozen times.

Controls

  • Fireboy — Arrow keys: Left / Right to move, Up to jump
  • Watergirl — WASD: A / D to move, W to jump

Both sets of controls are active at the same time. You can play solo with one hand on each, or share the keyboard with a friend — the game is designed for either.

Tips

  • Colour is the signal: orange is lava (Fireboy safe, Watergirl dies), blue is water (Watergirl safe, Fireboy dies), green kills both. Check every pool before stepping near it.
  • When a switch opens a door for one character, park the other in a safe spot first — moving both at once is how you land someone in a hazard mid-crossing.
  • Stuck on a level? Mentally trace each character’s full path to their exit separately. Usually one path depends on the other completing a step first — find that dependency and the move order becomes clear.
