Tag 2 3 4 Players brings the classic schoolyard game into the browser, built for two to four people sharing the same keyboard. One player starts as “it” and has to chase the others across the screen; make contact and the role flips instantly. Rounds are short, the swap happens fast, and the cycle keeps everyone playing rather than waiting on the sidelines.

What makes it work is the same thing that makes playground tag work: the rule is simple enough to explain in one sentence, but the decision-making is real. When you’re “it” you read where people are going and try to cut them off; when you’re free you watch the chaser and steer clear of corners. Four players on one screen makes it louder and messier, which is part of the point.

Controls

Each player is assigned a separate section of the keyboard so everyone can move simultaneously. The typical split is:

  • Player 1: W / A / S / D
  • Player 2: Arrow keys

With three or four players, additional key groups are shown on the start screen — check there before each round. Touch controls appear on mobile if the version supports them.

Tips

  • Chase in arcs, not straight lines. Running directly behind someone means they only have to change direction once to escape. Angling toward where they’re heading cuts the gap faster.
  • When you’re free, keep open space around you. Getting cornered against a wall leaves you one way out.
  • Watch who is near “it” when a tag lands. The newly tagged player is briefly off-balance — that’s the best window to put distance between yourself and the next chaser.
