Impossible Tic Tac Toe takes the classic paper-and-pencil game and pits you against an AI designed to never lose. While the rules remain identical to the game you played as a kid—getting three of your marks in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—the challenge comes from an opponent that calculates every possible move to force a draw or secure a win.
Each session is quick, making it perfect for short bursts of play. The game will test your ability to think multiple steps ahead, as a single careless placement will instantly be punished by the computer. Your goal is to try and outsmart the algorithm or, more realistically, hold your ground and force a stalemate.
Controls
PC: Use the mouse to click on the grid squares and place your mark.
Mobile/Tablet: Tap on any empty square on the grid to make your move.
Tips that actually help
- Take the center: If you move first, claiming the center square gives you the most opportunities to create a winning line.
- Force defensive moves: Try to create a situation where you have two intersecting lines forming (a fork). The AI will always block, but if you have two winning paths, it can only stop one.
- Play the corners: If the center is taken, placing your mark in a corner is your next best option to maintain pressure on your opponent.
