Cat Trap
Cat Trap is a clever and highly addictive puzzle game where you go head-to-head against a seemingly simple feline. Your objective is straightforward: prevent the cat from escaping the hexagonal board by clicking on tiles to raise barriers. However, the catch is that for every tile you block, the cat takes a step toward the edge, always looking for the shortest route out.
Every match is a turn-based battle of wits. The cat’s AI is surprisingly sharp, forcing you to think several moves ahead rather than just reacting. If you simply block the tile right next to the cat, it will slip right past you. You have to build a wider perimeter and slowly close the net before it’s too late.
Controls
The game is entirely point-and-click (or tap on mobile):
- Mouse / Touch: Click or tap a light green hexagon to turn it dark, raising a barrier. The cat will automatically take its turn immediately after.
Tips for Catching the Cat
- Build a wide net: Do not try to block the cat by clicking right next to it. Instead, build your walls several tiles away to give yourself time to connect them.
- Look for natural choke points: The starting board often has some scattered dark tiles. Incorporate them into your perimeter to save valuable turns.
- Force it into a corner: Guide the cat towards a section of the board where you already have a strong wall, rather than chasing it in open space.
Cat Trap is perfect for short sessions, but its simple “just one more try” mechanics make it incredibly hard to put down. Give it a shot and see if you can outsmart the cat!
