Super Hot runs on a single rule: time only moves when you do. Step forward and the world ticks — bullets travel, enemies raise their guns, a thrown bottle arcs toward your head. Stand still and everything freezes in place. That one mechanic turns a first-person shooter into something slower and stranger, closer to a puzzle than a reflex test. You are not reacting to chaos; you are reading a frozen frame and deciding where to step next.

Each level is a short kill room. You start with red crystalline enemies nearby and often no weapon in hand. A typical run goes: punch the nearest figure to grab its gun, fire twice, sidestep a bullet by moving into exactly the right gap, then hurl your empty pistol at the last enemy across the room — all in about four seconds of real time, though it feels much longer. Levels restart instantly with no penalty, so when you misread the room you simply try again with sharper eyes.

Controls

  • WASD / Arrow Keys — move
  • Mouse — aim and look
  • Left Click — shoot or punch
  • Right Click — throw held weapon
  • R — restart level

Tips

  • Stop before you start. Count the enemies and note which way their weapons point before taking a single step.
  • A thrown empty weapon kills just as well as a fired one. When you run out of ammo, throw the gun rather than charging in unarmed.
  • Bullets travel a straight line you can see the moment they fire. Move sideways to clear the path, not backward — backward often puts you into the next enemy’s sightline.
  • When a room feels overwhelming, rotate the camera while standing still to take stock. The pause costs nothing.
